Similarly dreamlike is Stretching Possibilities, from 1998. Here, a giant deformed bed of transparent perforated aluminum floats suspended from the ceiling. Near the midpoint is a snowball-like bulge made from white polyester, which is visible through the semi-transparent materials of which the bed is made. At the end of the bed is a rippling metal wave covered with photographs of pairs of legs photographed on snow; each photograph contains one male and one female leg. The work plays on all the connotations associated with beds, including pregnancy, dreams, sex, birth, sleep, and the psychoanalytic couch.
